Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle Review
Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle: Transform Your Body Forever Using the Secrets of the Leanest People in the World… by Tom Venuto
Tom is the author of one of the most popular and bestselling ebooks in history “Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle”. This book is known as “the bible of fat loss”, but it’s not another book about dieting and it’s not just a weight-loss program; this is a breakthrough system to change your life and get you leaner, stronger, fitter, and healthier with the latest discoveries in exercise and nutrition science.
If you’re serious about physical fitness, exercise, weight loss and becoming leaner, fitter, stronger and healthier, then I highly recommend that you purchase Tom’s book. Tom provides a no-nonsense plan without gimmicks, hype, or quick fixes that has been proven and tested by more than 300,000 people in 154 countries.
So if you want to shed 10 pounds or 100, whether you want to build muscle or just look more toned, this book is the original “bible of fitness” that shows you how to get permanent results the safe, healthy, and natural way.
The other great aspect of the book is that it is well structured and organized. He has the plan laid out in four steps, or as he describes it “The Four Elements”. Here are the four elements that he lays out in the book:
- Mental Training
- Cardio Training
- Weight Training
And then at the end of each program element (chapter), he breaks it down to an “executable” action plan for each element.
Some other positive aspects of the book include:
The program is completely customizable. The author takes into consideration each person’s metabolism, digestive system, hormonal profile, sugar tolerance, and body structure and realizes that each individual is unique and different. In-other-words, this is not a one-size-fits-all program.
The other positive and important aspect of the book is the chapter on mental training (one of the four elements). This element is the first step in the program, and may be the most important. So why is this step the most important step in the program you ask?
Well first of all any time you embark on any kind change in your life, whether it’s implementing a new nutrition program, or a new exercise program, there needs to be a change in your mindset – or as the author states it so succinctly in the book:
“The biggest secret to physical change is mental change”
And here is another quote from the book by Earl Nightingale:
“The strangest secret in the world is that you become what you think about”
I am 54 years old (soon to be 55) and one of the things that I have observed about people through my 54 years of life is that most people that I meet are set in their ways. The vast majority of people go through life doing things a certain way (including myself), and it is difficult for people to change their behavior, and to change their way of thinking.
What sets “Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle” apart from other books that are out there in the health, fitness, weight loss category is that it teaches people the mental and motivational aspect of plan. Unless you can motivate yourself and “train your brain for success” so to speak, you will fail at whatever endeavor that you wish to accomplish. In-other-words, if you want to lose weight, become fitter, become healthier, lose body fat, or whatever health and wellness endeavor that you wish to accomplish, you must first and foremost train your brain for success if you wish to accomplish your goals. So how exactly do you train your brain for success?
Setting Goals and Positive Thinking
You accomplish that through setting goals and positive thinking. You do it by reprogramming your mind for success. If you want to lose weight, become healthier, become leaner and fitter, or if you want to accomplish all of the above, then you must set goals and have a positive attitude. In the book, there is a whole chapter devoted and dedicated to teaching you how to motivate yourself by setting goals and changing your mindset through positive thinking. This chapter alone is worth the price of the book.
Now those are the positive (pros) of the book, now let me give you the cons of the book. Because as great as the book is, it still has its flaws.
Certain Parts of the Book are Outdated
To be more specific, the section on nutrition science is outdated. In this section (one of the four elements), the author places heavy emphasis on macronutrients, but not enough emphasis on micronutrients. The reason why this may be outdated and flawed is because many natural health experts will tell you that the future of nutrition science is in micronutrients (plant-based diets) as opposed to a macronutrient diet (protein-based diet).
However, even though this section is somewhat flawed and outdated, the author still provides solid and sound scientific advice – great advice that you can include in your nutrition program.
And then lastly, as indicated, the nutrition plan is fully customizable. His nutrition program is not a one-size-fits-all nutrition plan, like the majority of nutrition plans that are out there. For example, if you’re a vegetarian, the nutrition plan can be customized to fit your unique nutritional needs.
Well this concludes my review of “Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle”. As indicated, if you want to get leaner, stronger, fitter, and healthier, then I highly recommend that you purchase the book.
